n the first day of the Christmas holiday, my mother and I visited the Terracotta Army
museum.
The terracotta army was created to follow Qin Shihuang, the first emperor of
China into the afterlife. He ordered the construction of his mausoleum over 2,200 years ago. The
building of mausoleum lasted for 38 years and more than 700,000 people worked on it.
A general attracted me. His front chest and shoulder was decorated with tassels, which symbolized
the highest rank in the army. I wished to be an emperor to lead them to fight enemy in ancient period.
Suddenly the general knelt down in front of me and said, ‘Your Majesty, we are looking for you
for a long time. I could find you finally. I beg you to go back to the past with me.’
‘That sounds great!’ I shouted happily when I saw a bronze chariot waiting in front of the museum.
The four horses took off as if they were flying in the sky.
‘Look! Your Majesty, we have arrived at you beautiful underground palace,’ the general said. Soon,
they landed. ‘This is our base. They are our soldiers!” the general said. I wondered, ‘they look like
sleeping as their eyes closed.’ the general replied
‘Your Majesty, they will wake up when Your Majesty make an order.’
‘Hold your weapons up!” I shouted loudly.
At that moment, all soldiers stood attention and their weapons up.
‘Fight!’ I shouted loudly.
The soldiers fought each other.
‘Stop!’ I shouted.
They stopped at once.
Suddenly I had a strange idea. I wanted to explore the palace to find some treasures and the body of
Qin Shihuang. Therefore, I told the general, ‘I want to walk alone.’ The general replied, “Your Majesty,
it is dangerous! I have to follow you, Your Majesty.’ I shouted, ‘this is an order. You must obey.’ I
walked towards the city wall and then I walked along the river side. But I didn’t find anything and saw
nobody too. I kept walking. There were a lot of huge buildings which looked similar to each other. I
didn’t know where I was and got lost then. It was almost nightfall so I had to rush back to where I left the
General. Suddenly, I felt a knife pointed at my back and someone said, ‘Finally, I have a chance to kill
you today.’
‘AH!’ I was frightened and cried.
Mum asked me, ‘Hong Hong, why did you scream?’
‘Nothing, Mum. I’m alright,’ I pretended I was alright at that moment.
‘It’s time for us to go.’ Mum said.
